The Monitor
Your virtual auditor. It goes through your management system continuously and shows what is missing, before the real auditor asks.
What it does
An internal audit is a photograph. The Monitor is a film. It looks at your system continuously and puts a score against each part: how complete is it, how current, and where is it falling behind.
So in March you already know what you will run into in November. And that is exactly the moment when you can still do something about it.
Two numbers stand out, and those are exactly the two you start with on Monday. No forty-page report, no hunting around. The Monitor points, you pick it up.
The point
Most scores in software are a black box. A number comes out and nobody knows why. That is precisely the kind of number an auditor cannot use, and therefore neither can you.
On the Calculation tab you see per criterion how the score comes about.
| On screen | What you see |
|---|---|
| The criterion | What the Monitor looks at, in plain language. Not a code, but the requirement it concerns. |
| The threshold | From which value the criterion counts as in order. In black and white, not by feel. |
| The weighting | How heavily this criterion counts in the total. So you understand why one point lands harder than another. |
| The measured value | What is actually there right now. Click it and you are in the underlying items. |
| The score | The result of those three. Traceable, and therefore explainable to someone looking critically. |
And you set the weighting yourself. If you think overdue actions weigh heavier than a slightly stale risk assessment, that is how you set it. The Monitor measures what you think matters, not what we think matters.
So you know
Not an approvalThe Monitor does not say you are certified or will be. It says what is in your system and what is missing.
Not a replacement for your auditorAn audit is human work and it stays that way. The Monitor only makes sure you do not get a fright.
Not a judgement on your organisationIt measures your system, not your people. A low score is a list of work, not an accusation.
Not accountable in your placeYou review and approve, always. That is in the terms too, and not for show.
Questions
Continuously. Change something in your system and you see it in the score. Nothing to switch on or schedule.
Yes. Threshold and weighting are set per criterion, so the Monitor looks at what you think matters. What is set is always visible on the Calculation tab.
You decide with the permissions. Often you want management to see the total and a department head to see their own part.
It does. Anything held as a requirement in the system can be included, not only standards.

In a demo we run it on an example environment and open the Calculation tab. Within five minutes you see why this is different from a dashboard with coloured dots.
